Correction Policy

India Govt News (hereinafter referred to as “India Govt News” / “We” / “Us” / “Our”) is committed to maintaining accuracy and accountability in all the news and information published on Our platform. Through this Corrections Policy, We aim to inform readers about the steps We take when any incorrect information is identified on Our website. We are accountable to Our readers and understand that it is Our responsibility to correct any errors and inform You promptly.

Premise

India Govt News strives to deliver accurate and comprehensive news reports based on the available information at the time of publication. We are committed to correcting any errors in the material published on Our website as soon as We become aware of them. Being a digital platform, We may issue corrections or clarifications on Our social media accounts, publish editor’s notes, and update the content directly. In cases where a significant mistake has occurred, potentially leading to misinformation, We issue a public apology to Our readers in a timely and appropriate manner.

Updating a Report

Whenever We update a story, We make it a practice to clearly indicate that the article has been updated. For any significant corrections or additions, We include a correction, clarification, or editor’s note to inform readers of the changes. If a story is edited to include updated comments or additional input from stakeholders, We note the update accordingly.

If any error is found in Our fact-checked content (in accordance with Our Fact-Check Policy), We correct the information and mark the top of the article with a bold statement: [Correction: Updated Information…], followed by an explanation of the correction. Our readers are encouraged to report any corrections via email at indiagovtnews1@gmail.com or through the “Suggest A Correction” feature available at the bottom of each article.

Corrections

When a substantive error is identified in an article, photo caption, headline, graphic, video, or other published material, We issue a correction immediately, explaining the nature of the correction.

Clarification

If Our journalism is factually correct but unclear or lacking in detail, We may rewrite the content and issue a clarification. Clarifications are also used to note if We failed to seek comments or responses that have since been added, or if additional reporting has provided new insights into the event.

Editor’s Notes

For corrections that question the entire substance of an article or present a significant ethical concern, We may add an editor’s note. This note will explain the nature of the issue and why the correction is being made. Such notes are reviewed and approved by a senior editor before publication.

Other Corrections

When an error is pointed out by a reader in the comment section, Our community engagement team may respond directly within the comments, noting that the error has been corrected.

If We publish incorrect information on Our social media accounts, We promptly correct it on the same platform. If the platform does not allow for correction, We retract the erroneous post.

We do not attribute errors to specific reporters or editors (e.g., “due to a reporting error” or “due to an editing error”).

Reporting Inaccuracies

If you believe that any story published on Our platform is inaccurate, please use the “Suggest A Correction” section at the end of the article or email Us at indiagovtnews1@gmail.com.

Take-down Requests

As a matter of editorial policy, We do not entertain take-down requests. However, if the subject of a story believes that the article is inaccurate, We are open to investigating the claim. If a correction is warranted, We will publish it, but We will not remove the article as if it was never published.

In cases where fairness demands further coverage or updates on Our previous reports, We may consider follow-up actions, but removal of content is not an option unless it involves publicly available personal data that puts the individual at risk of physical harm.

Use of AI Tools

We employ AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, etc.) for content modification, enabling faster corrections. If you notice any wrong information, kindly provide the relevant details, and We will promptly update Our content and imagery. Please email the story link to indiagovtnews1@gmail.com.
