- Go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra in your area. You can find the nearest center using the UIDAI website.
- Once you arrive at the center, request the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction/Update form or download it in advance from the UIDAI website.
- Carefully fill out the form with the required details, ensuring that all information is accurate.
- Submit the completed form to the official at the center. You will be asked to provide your biometric details, including fingerprints and iris scan, to verify your identity.
- The official will take a live photograph of you using a webcam at the center. There’s no need to bring a physical photograph with you.
- You will need to pay a fee of ₹100 for updating the photo on your Aadhaar card.
- After completing the process, you will receive an Acknowledgement Slip containing an Update Request Number (URN). Keep this slip safe as you will need the URN to track the status of your update request.
How to Download the Updated Aadhaar Card
Once your request to change the photo has been processed, you can download the updated Aadhaar card from the comfort of your home. Follow these steps:
- Go to the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in/.
- Under the ‘My Aadhaar’ section, click on ‘Get Aadhaar’ and then select ‘Download Aadhaar.’
- On the next page, enter your Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID, or Virtual ID. Then, complete the CAPTCHA and click on ‘Send OTP.’
- Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number. If you want to download a Masked Aadhaar card, check the corresponding box. Finally, click on ‘Verify & Download’ to download a PDF version of your updated e-Aadhaar card.
- After downloading the updated Aadhaar card, don’t forget to refresh your Aadhaar details in the mAadhaar app and the DigiLocker app.
